Why does anyone assume Rules and Regulations is an album?

Because nobody said it was a mixtape

I thought the same thing as well, we knew creeper 1 & 2 were mixtapes but nobody said rules & regulations was so you'd think it was an album.

1st Album = In at THE Deep End
2nd Album = Rules & Regulations
3rd Album = ???

Wiz

Did they say it was an album?

Rules & Regulations was an album

they said so, it was for sale in proper shops (before they started stocking more grime mixtapes) and the content is that of an album, not a mixtape

Roll Deep seem really split at the minute

Cementary warriors doing there own thing

BBK doing there own thing

Wil doing his own thing

Trim left and roachee would prob not be involved

Target seems to have gone a lil quiet apart from his show

I guess the crew has served its purposes of getting them noticed and lots of them r moving by themselves now while others just seem to have given up grime

adidasgrandad
15th April '08, 08:03 PM
more of a label than a crew these days

Wiz

Are JME and Skepta still a part of Roll Deep? And is Roachee out yet? if not when?

Too be fair though, BBk was kinda already together, Will's being doing his own thing from early 2000's and Trim's left for his own reasons and Roach is obviously much closer to trim, so is bound to leave. I think some have got more hunger than others in their camp to be honest

fair point

but once u say those mini crews r not concentrating on roll deep, u r left with a bunch of guys whoose work rate is non existent

Im sure the cd will be a solid release, but the last one was pretty average.

Nearly every track having 16 bars, chorus, 16 bars etc, with different mc's spitting around roughly the same topic. The Roll deep tracks bars r very average.

have you even heard rules and regulations? in at the deep end, fair enough, its shit. it was their stab at the mainstream.. but rules and regulations is a full on grime cd and one of the best in the scene easily!

Even though Rules + Regulations was all original material, it was released on a mixtape level, whereas the new disc will be available in major record stores as well as digitally.

The title is still undecided but the last I heard it was called Revenge Of The Big Money Sound but I think this has been changed now.

The only definite tracks I know that will be on there are Give Up (obviously) and When The Night Comes

Skepta and JME are still in Roll Deep

Roachee will be released in August and the signs are that he will not be a part of Roll Deep

Solo projects in the pipeline are Manga's From Dere To Here, Scratchy's Sharp As A Dagger and Flowdan's Return Of The Big Mic Man Part 3

This could possibly be true, the only thing I can confirm is that Maximum is sick at Pro Evo.

There will be a few singles released as part of the project as well

Rules & Regulations was one of the biggest releases last year grime wise, 3 videos which were all high standard especially the with the alleged £120k for Badman (Famous Director being the reason for the pricetag). They managed to get alot of promotion for that album without spending a fortune themselves, there aliances with Trident and LMHR were a big success. Would be good to know some actual figures, how it sold compared to the other big releases last year.

Yeah, but it wasn't really a sell out kinda song. Like Blimey said, it saved them a ton on promotion.

that has to be wrong

if they make lets say 4 pound a cd, which is generous they would have to sell 30,000 cd's to break even
