From the look of things producer mixtapes aren't doing too good in the scene (Scorcher, Skitz, Bless Beats), probably better to release instrumental ones because Davinche's and Low Deep's ones have been good. Well people told me Dexplicit's Royal Rumble mix was good for the first part so I guess that's something to say against the trend.

This cd has no quality to it, sounds like the guy has been making beats for a week, Most of the guests use old bars and sound like they don’t wanna be on these beats.......even Danny Weed and DVA throw him some cheap production that sounds like no effort went into!!! The main “highlight” for me, was when Lauren Mason turns up TWICE, its ironic that somebody just who started their career as a joke pairs up with some yout playing “producer” with one of the Local Lad’s studio equipment!

P-Money is a good example, man put out a big mixtape for free, that is better than 75% of the CDs people are expected to pay for... Chipmunk made a rep off free mixtapes too, look where his strategy has put him.
Not enough thought and planning is going into grime releases generally... It'll change tho, just needs time for people to learn from mistakes - others or their own.
Sometimes people forget how new & young this grime ting is...
