This was a logical question to me seeing as what has happened tonight/this morning.
Personally,
a) its from london
b) massive potential
c) the artists I listen and am a fan of rival any other artist in any genre

If your from or live anywhere around London you can really relate to whats being said in some songs
Its great when your in the mood for being hyped and when you just feel angry.
Alot of energy in grime, its the voice of the youth today and its refreshing to hear.

^^^ and like I say it just emanates from various scenes I love/d which had huge impacts on me, the energy is wicked and as an MC I love the tempo.

There really shouldnt be a reason for people to get confused. You obviously like/listen to Grime for a reason, state it. Unless people start debating another persons opinion.

I have always liked dark sounds and mood in music and seeing as grime is the closest musical representation of what it is like to be working class in England

Growing up in East London did it not represent me as much as any of the hundreds of black kids at my school.
For me its the raw energy and passion of grime (which is drifting away unfortunately), Dizzee Rascal told stories that I could relate to his album got me into grime. I connected more with grime than the hip hop i was listening to, they sounded like me and had stories i'd seen take place.

because it's music that i can relate to an importantly understand. i love it because its so raw and different and i think its unimitable. also i like it because i've seen what its done for people, encouraging them and giving them dreams and something to aspire to.

I dont really listen to grime too much anymore as the majority is swag. But when I do its just because I like that person, whether it be for there concepts, style, flow or anything.

Yeah Dizzee's down to Earth lyrics were a lot and that's what got me listening.

When I was younger I always listened to hip hop, but I never really enjoyed it 100%. Then I heard Grime, and I realised this was like the genre I was always meant to listen to. (not trying to get too religious here)
It's the energy in the music and MCing first of all, and the dark sounds and bass. And like Demos said, I hate when people try to turn it into hip hop, as the world has enough of that already.

The reason I listen to grime is simple, the energy and passion that comes from the beats and lyrics. Also despite being white you can easily relate to the content if uv had similar problems or experiences.
Grime frustrates me to a point. It has so much quality and potential but people (my mates in particular) just dismiss it. I wish people would be more open minded etc.
Wierd tho, I cant remember actually getting into grime tho. I was big into UKG since 98 onwards and just kinda progressed into grime. Others fell off where I continued... lol

I bet there's Bangladeshi kids who listen to Grime.
What about OT anyway. To say black is to an extent closing it off.
