lol thats why he coming with this talk like he some superstar thats gonna spread grime to the masses via the mainstream.
Then why come with an electro song? Its not a good look of what your representing.
He's just preparing all his fan boys, them ones that think its cool for a grime guy to do electro but not ok for a grime guy to do hip hop. Whats worse is that the song is a rip off of another tune and has a remix that rips off a 90's dance. Fix up the lot of you.

If grime is "in Wileys blood" why is he targeting mainstream sucess via bait electro tunes. He is not representing grime at all with WMR.

Maybe, and I wouldn't blame him here, he's sick and tired of doing grime and getting nowhere, with hardly any appreciation from anyone in the scene who cusses every single CD he puts out, while he sees artist after artist (and possibly even Chipmunk now) go through now and wants to make himself a bit of the music money and get a bit of status himself.
If he wants to put out of songs like WMR, then try and break 'If Your Going Out' or 'Real Life Not a Show' to do that fair enough, it might also give him an avenue to start dropping grimier stuff on a sly who knows, but so long as he drops Grime Wave and other Grime Releases, Im getting my grime music, hes getting his money- wheres the problem? I know its all a deep rooted feeling within us all that we'd like the genre to 'blow' and get recognition, well for now seeing as it isn't, Im happy to 'let' Wiley do some commercial tracks as long as he's still putting out some Grime for us underground guys as well unlike other guys who
do the commercial but then disappear never to be seen again.
You forget sometimes he started with Drum and Bass and Garage. I don't begrudge him anything and he is only of the only guys who will truly retain legend status years after the current crop of grime artists have gone by.
Its one fucking song, YEARS after Dizzee Rascal blew, so fuck it.

He has the respect of all of the scene, the youngers and people still look up to him, I fail to see why he can't do both.
Im fairly confident he will as well, afterall, all we know is Atlantic signed the one song.

Wiley will not become an electro star. Theres just as many struggling artists in electro as there is in grime, if not more. I really don't think this one successful tune is gonna make Wiley drop the genre that he's pioneered, championed and lead from the start.

i do fink wiley and the whole hype round his tune is ott at da moment, ppl are sayin its a numba 1 hit, top 10 or wateva but if he jus scrapes in the top 40 then what...he blew his chance again

This tune is getting hype because it is so club friendly...
Wiley's been making grime for years and no success.
See what the guys doing underneath all your dumbness.
You make think the hype is ott and the tune is crap but within a couple of weeks of making this tune it got signed by a big label, mad radio play and mixed up in clubs that he could of never of dreamed of getting with a grime tune. Wiley doesn't even care much for the tune but he knows what he's doing. So just let in unfold.

wileys grime can go big if given the right stage to do so and some people dont realise how big he actually is. he just needs the right stage to go big and atlantic can give him that promotional push his music. if he has to release a electro tune first then so be it.

Wileys new material has been good. How can he be too old? Theres no age limit. Foolish in the past maybe by bringing out too much stuff with not enough quality but I think this year, he's upped his levels and by doing this I think others around have upped theirs ie. Skepta with his new tunes and Ghetto with FOS. People jumping on his back to quick, just let him do his thing init.

Let the young blood though so they can learn from his mistakes and take it further.
fuck the young blood, they dont make as good music as Wiley. simple as that
bare hate for Wiley from so-called grime fans... let the man do his thing, if he fucks up who cares as long as he keeps making music for the fans... it's not like it's you losing any money or credibility
end of the day, every man is out for themselves and Wiley should his own needs above those of the scene, like i would if i was an MC
edit: and a single cross-over song does NOT constitute selling out, retards

Wiley should start producing some of the youngers as he'll get more milage out of being a producer than trying to be an artist at this point in his career.

Big up Hij. ^^^ At the end of the day Wiley isn't leaving the scene. FOR GOD'S SAKE HIS NEX CD IS CALLED GRIME WAVE He jus want some money. This will be good for Grime in the long run.

Wiley will go further with a more Dr Dre type mindset of using his production skill to develop fresh talent that will appeal to a younger market.
He will have a longer shelf life if he does this..
At the moment Wiley is starting to look old and drawn in like Michael Jackson in his video's.
If you cant see this you obviously don't get it.

he's on better form than he's been in for a long time and every tune i've heard from Grime Wave/Race Against Time has been good.. you usually talk some sense but this looks like straight hating to me
why would anyone want someone who still makes good music to just stop??
him being 30 years old is a minor aswell

man,
I'm not hating at all,
I'm being constructive.
I've stated that he could have a longer shelf life if he developed artists.
They could learn from the mistakes he made in the past and move this thing forward instead of hitting the same glass roof his hitting now.
Show me where I'm hating??
I've never said he should stop I'm saying he should focus on grooming the next great Grime artist.
His age is not the issue here ...It's juat that all the hard WORK is starting to show.

I gaurantee if you lot could make big money from hardly any work (face its not exactly a musical masterpiece) you would do it LIKE THAT
As long as he carries on making grime I am happy

Who said anything about stopping??
I said he should focus on producing a solid album for a worthy protege as Grime is on Wiley's shoulders.
He is NOT good at multi-tasking..
It's better to focus on less and do it well than do allot of things badly like he has done in the past.
Do NOT call me names as I have not offended you in anyway and you do not know me.
I have simply reiterated what "Wiley" said he was going to do anyway (before his brief retirement.)
This simple strategy has and continous to work for big producers like:
Jam&Lewis
Dr Dre
Jermaine Dupri
Timbaland
Basically as a producer he can constantly re-invent himself by having other artist front his sound and he can launch his own albums of the back of that...simple

Wiley could easily go number one with Rolex. I think it's probably enter at 5 or 6 and then climb up to number one in its 2nd or 3rd week.

Once they service the Video well and jump up the playlist anything can happen.
It's gonna come down to who else will be released that week and how much support he gets from the playlist and downloads.
Their gonna have to blitz the video from now though.
