I hear alot of tunes classified as bangers and they have elements of hip hop in them whether its the type of kicks snares(e.g. Gully Brook lanes 808) to maniacs speed up hip hop sounding drum pattern. I hear alot of Rude Kid beats and I think rah this literally sounds like a speed up heat maker tune.

I think theres far too much Hip Hip influence in grime beats right now, I want some garage influenced tunes. Producers right now need to look at Alias and beats from them times and try to bring some of them elements back into grime otherwise we'll end up with fast hip hop.

Grime started with those mad drum beats.

2 step or anything funky you can dance to.

Yeah they need to be brought back, but I keep finding myself making bassline or electro house everytime I put them in lol, it's all about the proper combination of drum elements.

Why are people still stuck on this? Grime is just UKs take on Hip Hop, yes it's a bit faster, but subject mattr is essentially the same, and so is the release schedule etc. now

Grime is just the UK guys doing US Hip Hop without the commercial appeal brought in by major labels and major money.

Yeah it used to be fresh and sound nothing like Hip Hop.

I swear it wasn't about money either it was about expression.

True. The money thing is a direct clone of America. Yeah, true ... it was just grimey guys barsing at radio to get it out.

Wiley beats don't sound like hip-hop still. Neither does JME's stuff like Mario Flag. When its done properly, grime lends as much from electro as hip-hop.

Grime is Hip Hop in disguise, same drum patterns, generic basslines

or theres the whole orchestral grime wich IS hip hop

its all music at the end of the day..uk music is not big so if hip hop is a stepping stone 4 artist and producers then so be it..
