cant really generalise all producers or all mcs. there are just lazy producers and lazy mcs as well as hard working ones

u also cant mistake laziness for lack of time, for example certain producers or MCs have a job or are in full time education, and personally i know its hard to juggle music and uni

Both people can be long.

The thing with an MC though is that they have to go out of their way to do a project whereas with a Producer, more time the beat is already on their pc...

See I'll always tell producers I'll write to it and let them know when I have the perfect bars cos I don't wanna be one of those long MC's. Sometimes I take a few days longer cos I'm chasing bare other things.

Yeah my bad, what I mean is if someone tells me yeah it's a minor and then flips it like its the most difficult thing ever.

I'm a producer. I'm not lazy, I just work to my scedule not a next MC's. If money was involved that would be a different question.

Fair enough, but you wouldn't tell someone yeah this time for sure and then just act long about it ...

Mister Lacey
22nd January '08, 09:14 PM
Apologies lol its unfair to generalize innit.
See I don't mind when people have genuine reasons for a delay and that yeah but when you blatantly know someone is just being a chief about things it's long lol why not be straight forward innit.
Just having bad experiences with producers innit.

I've never said to someone I'll make them a beat for a certain time, I jus say no to people who drop lines like "I got studio on _____, beg you hook man up with a beat", don't see why someone would book studio if they didn't have anything to vocal in the first place.

Depends on the person. I know alot of lazy Mc's & the same with Producers.

Wiz
22nd January '08, 09:24 PM
To be fair I have said to people "I should have some beats in a few weeks" and then not have any to give out by then but that's because beats don't come everyday,

I don't feel like a beat is finished until it sounds finished, it's not a process that you rush, if it comes quick it comes quick, if it doesn't it doesn't.
If it's a free beat the only incentive to speed up would be good promotion, if you're a random MC why should I rush a beat to give to you, is there really anything in it for me?

Again fair enough lol my beef right now is with a couple of producers that I've made tunes with and said they'd set me the parts for mixing and mastering and then just act long about it..

It's not just MC's or Producer's its just Poeple in general innit.
But yeah i know what your talking about, you shouldnt say 'jhshfashasduhdsa' if you cant do it in the first place or you're not prepared to carry out your words.

Its defo a 50/50 here. If we talk about pure laziness, not about stuff always getting in the way. You can't generalize producers or mcs as lazy due to tha fact that it really only depends on the guy. Though I'd be (i consider myself a producer) more lazy with some people than with others, depends who I'm working with, on what and if there's money involved.

PS Lol, i'm suuure you're talking about me, Lacey! innit!

Mister Lacey
27th January '08, 09:13 AM
Nah man not you man lol.
You should be making beats right now though LOL.

Definition of Frisee
Frisee, also called curly endive, is a variety of chicory which is frequently used in mesclun (a mixture of baby greens). The attractive pale green leaves are narrow and curly with a frizzy appearance and a slightly bitter taste.

This is another one of those foods with confusing differences between British and American names. In Britain it is called 'endive' and in America 'chicory' or curly endive - to add to the confusion, in France it is 'chicoree frisee' - curly chicory.

All those mcees i was talking about say is "yeah, man, i'mma record that shit, but i ain't got money". Two months later his mate builds a home studio. "Ahh, mate, i got no time to record that shit, i got a job to do, but i'll record it next month! Promise!". Six months later still not an inch closer to pulling that track off. I've lost hope for that one, actually. :dead:

One known MC got me to send a track ASAP, then 3 days later said he'd lost it, so I sent it again and 2 years later I've never had the vocal back lol

To: Mister Lacey.

You should produce yourself.

a) you seem not to understand that without music theory knowledge, producers are just kids pressing keys and buttons all day long hopeing that something good will come out the speakers sometime soon.

b) You can take 100% control of your career and move at your own pace.

Dizzee took my tune, then he didnt want it.

so gave it to Syer Bars, didnt use it.

So gave it to some unknowns and didnt see it since.

Moretime MC's will make promises they don't deliver on. I do stuff at my own pace and make no promises.

Its not all about theory. Though nowadays without it you're not anywhere far past "kids pressing keys and buttons all day long hopeing that something good will come out the speakers sometime soon".

It not about theory, I agree. Because otherwise we would not have a mad sounds we have today.

But when I sit down to make a tune, apart from the beat and maybe a few chords I can play where the tunes goes is just luck.

Finding something that sounds good, then finding something that sounds good on top of that and then editing playing around till im happy.

But I never get the sounds that I want, I just end up with what I get.

Cheers.:D Yep, I'll have something for ya soon.

Speaking of keyboards - I need one pronto. All this programming with a mouse is super-long. It's on my list. As it stands it's

*2GB more RAM
*500GB External HD
*Keyboard/Control Surface
*laptop

But at the moment, giving the bank the money I owe them is top priority.

To Be Honest Its Quite Even But Theres Less Producers Than Mc's By Far Cos Now Days Everybody Has Bars...

But What Pisses Me Off Is Guys Who Wanna Come Use My Studio And Dont Listen When I Tell Them To Leave The Mic How Its Set If They Want A Good Sound Ect... And Then To Top It Off They Decide They Dont Like The Track They Put Down!

Wonder If Anybody Else Relates To This Looooool
