"It’s been a month now since the video for Devlin’s London City dropped, and since then, the video has propelled to immense heights. The video is currently Number 1 in Channel AKA’s charts, out-lasting the likes of Soulja Boy, Keri Hilson and Tinchy Stryder !"

did not expect this. at all.

London City is a very mainstream orientated tune and I believe it could at least make the charts. However it's limited success whithin the grime community doesn't really mean much.

I think they have wasted a good song really, because if they promoted this song better or it got signed by a bigger label it could have done alot in the charts, now it's only gonna be #1 on channel AKA, which is good, but they should have set higher targets. It's had 400,000 views on YouTube now and I swear there's still no way you can buy this tune?

LOL at people saying this ain't a big achievement for an under exposed artist like Devlin, its a big look. He will get booked for shows and P.A's across the whole country now and his fan base will have grown rapidly.

So much negativity on here, its depressing.

People all over the country watch Channel AKA and its on heavy rotation. So it will expose him more as an artist- fact.

doubt it
There has to be a decent draw eventually from having 400,000 views on youtube and video that is very popular on the TV stations right now.

Whats going on with your producing career then mate?

has nothing to do with your or this thread and is kinda off topic

hij set up a TV program and start doing what Channel AKA couldn'tBare money to do that and I have no idea of the logistics involved. I have thought about it (I think about a lot) buts in untenable.

has nothing to do with your or this thread and is kinda off topicI'm trying to make the point that what he has done, isn't totally negative or laughable like people make out here. While I don't personally rate the channel, evidently a lot of people do watch it, and therefore Kraze and Devlin can be happy they are getting this sort of exposure and people are rating his tunes- and learning about his face (no homo) as it's his first proper video and its getting his face out there.

I don't think you would have the same attitude if it was your tune currently doing well on the chanel IMO.

I see what you're saying

I just think MC's like Devlin are much better than Channel AKA

everyone's doing the same thing

He is better than Channel AKA, but its a lot further than where he was a year ago and a lot more people will know who he is, it can't be contested. Does he have another tune thats had 400,000 views on the net and how many others on TV?

it's not a bad thing all the exposure he's getting

hopefully it can help kick start another song into the charts (not channel AKA's)

This is a big look for Dev and even though i cant stand AKA it holds up well for allot of people and cant do any damage and at least this way he can get some live shows out of it and make a ££££ which is allot more than most do with a full mixtape/CD.

Went to watch the football with a mate and this lass the other day. She came to the door and just randomly says "have you heard that song called London City, it's rate good" (excuse the derbyshire dialect). So it's pretty obvious it's reaching a slightly more mainstream audience, considering the girl in question hasn't even heard of the genre 'grime'.
