We caught up with the eldest member Untitled to discuss the CD.
As the oldest in the crew would you say the others look up to you or see you as the leader of Behave Yourself?
I’m the eldest and I hate it. I feel like a old man. I kinda* act like an old man aswell hahaha! I don’t know if they look up to me but I hope that I’m setting a good example in terms of the effort I put into the team. Everyday I’ m chasing companies, thinking of new ideas to push us and calling everyone to make sure they are ok. I wouldn’t like to call myself the leader but I am passionate about my crew and strive everyday to build foundations so we can progress.
You’ve recently added new members to your crew, who are they and what do they add to the team?
We have recently added Rogue and Shiftz Beatz to the line up. Rogue, an MC from East London has been involved in the grime scene for a number of years appearing on leading stations with Ruff Squad etc. He then took a long break but is now back and better than before. He sounds different to all of us and thats always a positive. Behave Yourself is like a family and I’ve known him for time now so it was only right! Shiftz is an up and coming producer from the Midlands. I haven’t heard one poor tune from him yet. I wanted to bring him into the team because again he makes different beats compared to Flamzy and J Beatz

What’s the general vibe of the CD?
Most of it is grime. There are a few tunes for the ladies to keep them happy. You will be able to listen to the CD from start to finish. It starts off very grimey, then mellows out a bit before returning to 9 grimey insrtumentals. DJ’s and fellow MCs will be happy with the instrumentals on offer.
This CD is different from other mixtapes as its 3 tunes from each of us including 3 tunes as a group.
Your last CD personally was ‘Misconceptions’ are there any conceptual tunes on this release?
To be fair, thought did go into all of the tunes. There is nothing deep on this CD that was on Misconceptions but it is very grimey with a couple club tunes.
What would you say to anyone looking to buy the CD?
We are very humble people. We just want to reach out and give the listeners something they will enjoy. Lets face facts, you could admittedly just go on ********* after a week and get the download once someone rips it and uploads it. I’m asking that you buy it becuase we want to reinvest the money in other projects. The mixtape has something for everyone. General listeners, DJs and Mcs. 24 tracks! This CD is not just in some plastic wallet. The CD comes packaged in cello wrap and with a 4 page booklet. We have spent time on this CD for you guys so we just ask that you support us and help us to progress in this tough industry.
On a side note, if anyone would like to help sell the CDs we will give you half of what you sell. Send an email to bystreetteam@googlemail.com. Big Up Hij and everyone that took time to read this!
Make sure to download the podcast to hear what Behave Yourself are all about and remember the CD is out next week!
