no one should really complain why grimes not finanicially viable if its the same people who donwlaod and never pay for shit no one even lives off sales in grime no more just prs money and pa money. grime would be better if it wasnt so heavily bootlegged because its not on a big scale like hip hop where bootlegging wouldnt effect it soo much becuase its not an emerging growing genre............there was more to say but cant be arsed to continue but u get my point

^^ i love the sets more too probably, would be good to have on CD instead of poor Rinse/Kiss 100/1Xtra rips or the poor quality mp3s they put out studio sets in though. Or if DAB became higher bitrates like it should be and the people making studio sets (who are technically music professionals) learnt to encode and mp3 without swagging it up, then that'd be nearly as good.
My reason for buying good Grime CDs though is;
better quality for a nice sound system

I like having a physical product. I also sometimes sit and read the CD covers inlay something you cant do with Mp3s. I do download before i buy now though because having bought a few shit CDs, i want to know what im buying first. Its also supporting a scene which i've attemted to follow and loved since from when it was still dark garage.
CHUCK.

Because if the music is goood, you should pay for it, and by doing this encourage the artist to make more music.
My opinion anyway.

Not Bothered Whether i get the mp3 or hard-copy once im supporting the artists
espescially after how much ive downloaded from purewaste, grimetorrents(ttkk),limwire in the past so whenever a new grime album/mixtape drops its a sr8 purchase(as long as its not BAD)

What annoys me most is when the spine is printed upside down though. Or when inserts aren't cut to the right size. I just think it's not hard to get those things right, and it makes your product look so much better.

i also wish my ipod had a bigger capacity so i could rip everything in good quality and still fit on everything i want

1 and 2.. 3 shouldnt bother no one since them same broke guys dont mind dishing out for high grade or credit,so hows about those who download try support music/the artist or dont complain when the scene drys up..
i can see the reason for downloading obviosly and apreciate its way easier than going to deal real or ukrecordshop or wherever but downloading wont do much but fund people like lady fooking gaga and "flo rida" so i prefer to pay for those artist's who work hard at what they do..

says it all. imho paying for CD's lets artists know there is cash in doing grimey raw shit, although I would prefer just dling it and donating the cash by pay-pal or something. I want to kinda cut out the middle-man.

I'm upset that I made the effort to buy Wiley's album and where it's supposed to drop from Zip It Up to the next track it cuts to silence for like a second. Yeah I'm picking at a little things but it's annoying.
I wanna know what next release is worth my money tbh, don't wanna buy J2K's one 'cause I know I'll just end up leaving it in the rack like Impulse's CD.

This is what I mean innit. Songs that are good but aren't classics or bangers won't give you the feeling to reach back for them. That's why I never back for most mixtapes in my collection, they're all good but they're not packed with big tunes.

I buy all of my Grime on iTunes, and have never actually purchased a physical CD (Grime or otherwise). I'm also a producer, I can tell that the iTunes mp3s has been properly mastered, interpolated and rendered (best quality).
The reason why so many artists such as Chipmunk, Tinchy Stryder and Dizzee Rascal are focusing on the mainstream is because people don't actually buy their music (even though 10,000s or 100,000s of people can listen to their music).
Grime's lucky to have people like Ghetts, Logan Sama, Westwood etc that promote and make grime despite the lack of profit from CD sales. On the other hand you have Lethal B, who made it to no. 11 in the charts and pretty much desserted Grime, riding the success of 'Pow' touring the country.

Guy still makes Grime music, just not involved in the scene any more. If you see him live his stageshow is 70% Grime. And the way he does it, is a polished Sidewinder set really.

Reading through this thread has made me want to start buying physical copies as I now see the merit, but at the moment I don't have the money to squander on Grime CD's or any CD's that I could download for free.
However when I am earning, and have the money I will definitely buy Grime CD's. If Grime is still about that is.
