true stories, esp back in the day when mc's where the ones leaving studios like a mess.

£5 is hardly a big deal. mc's now day dont have any radio mentally like back in the day. they think its all about 1xtra & kiss.

Shalz08
4th July '09, 08:10 PM
why should the mc pay to go radio though, seriously

Highlander
4th July '09, 08:16 PM
This would be very interesting.

grimekid27
4th July '09, 08:17 PM
because they get just as much exposure as the dj who pays £10.

pirate radio doesnt come cheap. rigs, studio rent, equip etc.

I don't even bother locking to these small time stations unless there's a big mc there. So really they're shooting themselves in the foot.

Mazer Rackham
4th July '09, 08:34 PM
i dont see whats wrong, it costs money to run radio lol, and they have to get the moeny from somewhere, so why not

Chrome
4th July '09, 08:50 PM
getting paid to be on radio >>>>>>>>> paying to be on radio

FlashG
4th July '09, 09:03 PM
rinse fm charged subs, im sure its a score five aswell - Not sure if they still do though.

like some one already posted 'subs is normal'

Now legal stations should be a little different, advert/sponsership money covers costs for dj's

Im gna go to maccy d;s n ask for free burgers just for showing up

electricity, streams, servers, decks, needles, headphones, advertising....i could go on but its long...

i dont see whats wrong, it costs money to run radio lol, and they have to get the money from somewhere, so why not

u think da government got money to throw at us when they would rather buy porn and plants? oh please
they rape the system but when we do it, its wrong.
and even if they did get money frm the government, they will dictate on what u can and cant play and restrict u on what areas u can beat in

where as stations like rinse and urban go out worldwide and aint restricted in what they play

plus i see where hij is coming from
but it is kinda double standards
like we cant talk about certain things yet u wanna go and do ur own but not in ur name
plus i aint dumb i kno its Urban but even Urban has its double standards....they wanna charge mc's dat come down a fiver, which i think is acceptable, but they aint charging the big names to come down. funny that.

and i kno where they big names would rather be. and it aint Urban. only certain man have love for Urban.

dere always repairing and buying new equipment and doing other things to build up the urban fm tv name..the money aint goin in raw's pocket n/b..u gotta remember its still fairly new and isnt being funded by multiple people..rinse fm came up the same way and now its established but not mainstream its the avenue people see..if people go urban it will build up nd money will get put into better things im sure

D.O.G
5th July '09, 02:56 AM
lets be honest...the equipment shown looks like its been purchursed from a scrap yard or maybe raw mite of treated the station to a cash converter bonaza

SPOOKY DJ
5th July '09, 03:20 AM
Equipment in Urban aint always the best..... and I would be the 1st to admit that.
But its not what equipment u got, its how u use it.
They put in 1 CDJ-1000 and next mans fucked in up within 2 days of it being there.
They could have belt drive decks and Numark cd decks in there for all I care and i'd still try my best to mix coz thats what a DJ does. He puts on a bloodclart show.

Im nice with the set up they got in there now. And i might not be the best mixer with the vinyls but i try my best. Same wiht the cd's.

I shouldn't have made it. But some stuff does piss me off, but I'm not in a position to say it. I was about 10 pints gone on a 20 minute internet session in Magaluf when I wrote it.
