I use my Visa you can just buy it straight, or you can go to GAME or any game store and buy it from there then just type in the code. It's pretty much the same as topping up credit from your phone.

Or if you want a bit/lot of discount, then go on ebay.

If you buy the Microsoft Points from Play.com or Amazon.co.uk then you get more points for the same money that'd you'd pay on your 360. Which is dumb, cause surely their saving on printing the cards out etc if we buy online, but o well.
