i thought it was good. atmospheric and deep. its a little different to anything merlins made...its well produced for a start. merlins beats tend to be quite plain and boring.

theres only a few really hip hop ones (the ghetto and unsigned hype) which wernt very good. its overall quite a grimey cd in my opinion

im not talkin about the volume though, its the punchyness/rythym/sound that let em down, 2 tinny, 2 robotic, 2 shit basically,
grime guys always look 4 hip hop beats in the wrong places

..it may have a few tunes that would strictly be classed as hip-hop due to the bpm and stuff, but i think overall it has a very grimey feel to it.. how can grime expand to the degrees that some people hope/expect it to, if cross-overs aren't allowed at all??..
charma
14th March '08, 09:10 PM
this cd is dark, closet thing he's made to an album yet as 2000 & life was alot of freestyles and ghetto gospel wasn't as consitent with quality tracks.
the reason i like this cd best is because of the dark feel it has to it, some tracks may not be 'grime' but they are grimey none the less, if that makes sense ?
i think this was as much as lewi white & smasher project as a ghetto project and it worked well, they deserve alot of credit for the production on this as well as the actual production such as effects, mixdown etc.
so yeah, i like it for my own personal reasons before people start saying 'bandwagon'.
RIP Jakey
14th March '08, 09:18 PM
I like it, it really grew on me. At first i was disapointed by the lack of grime but after listening again I thought it was BIG.

The fact you chose those 2 and not any other two suggests you're biased in your agrument, using swaying language to try and win the argument.
Mountain is any circa-2000 Narrows wannabe track. I'm Ghettz Remix barely classes as music, it's a big pile of shit.

im not biased at all, i chose three tracks which sound completely different. if you don't like the cd then it aint an issue but to say all of the tracks sound the same is just fuckin ridiculous.
i've never really liked ghetto until this cd so it aint even like im doing it cos im his biggest fan or whatever.

You chose two, Mountain and I'm Ghettz?
Either way, I don't like the CD ... but the production does sound very SIMILAR across the board.
If you can't hear it, go listen to one of the big Hip Hop CDs, Jay-Z or something, that has a load of producers on doing different stuff and then go back to it to see how bland FOS is.

No one keeps to the concept still , its just a nice chorus. after ghetto drops the first line, he goes on some mad angry flow talking about all sorts and their barely any talk about threats till the chorus kicks in.

Happy to have spent £7 on this cd and the quality of the recording is much better than the average grime cd, an issue which genrerally has quite an effect on my overall view of a purchase.
Aggy Ghetto on dark beats>>>>>>>
Also I ordered from uptown on Friday at about 3ish, got the cd with OG season Saturday morning. Props to Uptown for the rapid service.
