Rinse got jumped by the OGs. My mate said it was mostly Blacks but they all jumped him, aparently Rinse held it up and got some good punches in which rocked a few of em (including Blacks) but got done over by numbers.
I was at the bar at the time, it kicked off just as they called last orders.
I heard something bout a stabbing but no details.

night smacked it
roska b2b scratcha was heavy, roska played his remix of 'neighbourhood' and some new one with a really subby bass, scratcha dropped anew badness funky 1, yellowtail remix (tune!), all sorts
lava unit were fucking sick, migraine skank was fun. plus i caught a new copy of the lava continues, so im gonna sell it in 20 years in mint condition for millions
EZ was alright but lots of his big tunes had already be dropped by magic, reecha and spyro - ie 138 trek is ok, but not when spyros already played a jamakabi dub on it. crowd seemed to be getting a bit aggy too
oneman and brackles seemed to just try to flex their garage muscles, i was hoping for funky and brackles/ shortstuff/ geiom/ mickey pearce/ martin kemp stuff, so i fucked off (had to get night bus from marble arch at 3). must have just missed whatever kicked off. bad publicity for dirty canvas i spose

Can confirm that this is not a stunt. When I saw this last night I initially thought he was doing a 'Bashy' and trying to promote 'Hard Night Out'.
After an altercation in a club last night, Professor Green was 'bottled' and is currently in hospital with severe stab wounds to the neck.
If you know Pro Green, it is absolutely classic for him to be millimeters away from death and say: "Gotta have surgery. Pissed"
Wishing Pro a speedy recovery.

i got there fucking late, was pretty much the last ppl let in before they locked off the que. come in, see a couple people, everyone telling me i missed everything...
had a drink, stood around for a bit, tried to go out for a gret but they wernt letting people out by then... then next thing all i hear is madness, baaaare glass breaking and shit, people shouting, pure commotion. i tried to look from the couch area over to see what was happening but i was next level buzzing and i couldnt see anything. my boy saw it properly and was like rahhh someone got stabbed in the neck, he aint a follower of the music so he wouldnt have known who it was. fucked up though.
wow at this. seemed like nice vibes in there. rinse told me he went on with OGs but i didnt know anything negative was attatched to it i assumed it was all good...
deep i brought a couple people who were unsure of coming for this exact reason. i told them naaaah iv never seen a real beef or anything... the crowds bare diverse and its good vibes, live mcs, djs... fucking missed everything, EXCEPT the stabbing!

That and Dirty Canvas isn't a Grime rave. EZ was headlining. This incident doesn't have any effect on anything. Just gives you bunch of washerwomen something to talk about. As per usual I doubt more than 3 of you even bothered to go. And it was free entry again.

it was last day of term, it was free, it had grime and ez on the line up, in a place easy to get to in london. if you are a genuine fan then you will invest the time to go to events, especially in this scene where they are few and far between.

even if someone sits on the intetnet all day and doesnt 'contirbute' to the scene doesn't make there points invalid. Alot of people download music free and miss events because they don't think the quality is high enough, and the scene would get more investment if everyones opinion was counted not just the elite that go to all the raves and buy every release.

I keep seeing alot of talk about blah blah not going to raves ect. What if we buy the music, listen to as much radio/podcasts as we can, but don't have no friends that like grime. The only thing that's stopping me from going to raves is the fact that 0 of my friends and social circle listen to or like grime.
Going to clubs on your ones is not the one.
So me not going to events doesn't make me a fan?
Seen.
Yeah this is very true.
Most my boys would go to a Road Rap/Hip Hop event, or any US R&B fan etc event no hype.
My promotion team even arranged Kano last year at Sway...that event would have been a flop if it weren't for the regular Uni students always going to Sway on a Tuesday lol, it wasn't due to his name or the promise of some grime/garage through the night that made it successful.
If this was a genre like R&B that its almost 80% sure you'll have a GROUP of friends to go out with, then it makes sense for Elijah/Logan to be talking like that, but Grime is a small genre.
It'd also be easier to persuade people to come to grime events if they're at better venues. If a group of three 20 year olds can hire our Cafe De Paris every 3months, why can't grime scene elders?

That is why internet fans of anything in general are fucking hilarious. Unqualified opinions given by people who believe themselves to be speaking facts from a position of ignorance.
lol, 'unqualified'...really?
There was a fair few poor comments in this thread regarding the stabbings etc, but the majority of GrimeForum is constructive.
You need to learn to distinguish between obvious trolling, fanboys and actual people looking for discussion. Ironic that, you have an unqualified opinion here, par.

no matter what you as a fan think of any MC, laughing about them getting stabbed / bottled isn't funny
.
Talking about searches on the door when someone got bottled is rather asinine.
Shouldn't every rave have a search policy on the door?
some people are in situations where its hard to reach; locations, age, friends not liking grime etc. nothing wrong with that. if ur on a forum talking about grime regularly then i think its safe to call u a fan
cool, but a 'fan' that contributes nothing apart from witty remarks here is useless.
Thats fair enough, but if they r contributing by supporting the scene, paying for cd's/mixtapes/downloads then i consider them a fan more so than people who go to the raves but just download the music for free.
But actually attending any live events does determine whether you can realistically form an educated opinion on live events.
Exactly...
Anyways...back to the point of the thread.... was a good night in general, good vibes in the club, although the garden was more packed than inside, spyro and OGz were alot....But EZ was LIVE.

If you are indeed 20, I was moderating Uptown Records forum when you were 11 years old.
The reason I do not partake in this iteration of the underground garage/grime internet community is you just come lately kids do not know the difference between discussing your own recently formed opinions and putting something forward as fact. The percentage of people who have anything useful and insightful to share with me is in single figures.
If that makes me a condescending and arrogant prick then so be it. It's still the truth.
I feel this discussion has derailed itself after about a dozen people started talking about not being Grime fans just because they don't go out of their houses to watch live events. Basic reading comprehension has failed several of you and you are now arguing amongst yourselves a topic which nobody raised in the first place.
In closing I will say that yes all events should have searches on the door and it is a poor door policy if everyone is allowed into a central London venue unvetted. However it is completely irrelevant in this specific instance as a member of the public struck Professor Green with a bottle purchased at the bar.
I also believe that the small mercy of events like Dirty Canvas turning into hipster spots full of art students and the line ups being full of DJs playing anything is that if there is an incident a them, it cannot be pinned on 'Grime music' as these events are not billed as catering to just the Grime crowds. In the eyes of the Met Police this will be a bottling at a music event in London, not a Grime event.
I trust you will all continue to enjoy Grime music in whichever forms you choose to consume it and will do your best to give back directly to the artists who provide you with entertainment from their music. And I hope that in the near future there are live events which may tempt you to attend and experience what is for me the most exciting aspect of the Grime scene first hand.

Forgotten the name of their promotion crew, but they brought bare acts down there last summer and fall, and it was always a good night.

it was last day of term, it was free, it had grime and ez on the line up, in a place easy to get to in london. if you are a genuine fan then you will invest the time to go to events, especially in this scene where they are few and far between.
Im not saying everyone on the forum should of turned up, but I'd expect the over 18s from London and surrounding counties to make the effort.
If you havent been to one of the Dirty Canvas', Eskimo Dance, YMS, SOB, FWD v Rinse, Rumble, Sidewinder or one of their affliated events. Dont talk to me about being a Grime fan if your over 18
TBH I was at most of those raves before it was even called grime and guess what, most of em were swag, lets be honest!!! You turn up see a couple of mcs shouting, hackney guys come through and the raves was over, something to talk about at school but not good times really! Pirate radio was more the thing you missed out on and should be pissed if you're a new fan

see elijah thats what im trying to say and then you get funny and come with "how long have you been listening to grime?". i dont want to rave with hipsters, art students and spice boys and therefore i dont. Hence why i said that the only grime raves that really interest me are eskimo and the rinse ones.

Age is irrelevant, and usually the starting point of a weak argument.
You don't need to partake into discussion, but everyone on the Forum (as in regulars) knows the difference between someone with an informed opinion, and someone just spouting bullshit - there is pretty much no reason for you to have ill-hate towards GrimeForum 'keyboard warriors' or whatever you want to call us, at the end of the day most discussion in large numbers is thru this forum, but forums come hand-in-hand with people chatting crap.
Many Grime/Funky videos on youtube, or upcoming tracks have been spread from GrimeForum users posting them up on Facebook...that is a contribution.
I think if you read Elijah's message it clearly suggested that, and you implied it by saying that Grime Fans are those that buy the music AND go to the events.
I'll buy the music, I'd probably hire a grime artist for an event if there was wider demand. Was even thinking about discussing for you or Spyro at our next large event for the 2nd and smaller room, tbh Spyro's looking likely lol. There was no misinterpretation at all, your just reading the post differently from us.
The whole getting searched thing is a separate matter but seemed relevant in a topic about the ENTIRE event, anyone (even those that weren't at Dirty Canvas) is entitled to an opinion on that, everyone agreed.
Its not a question of being 'tempted' to attend, its just a question of mass-interest. If your ever interested in doing Grime v R&B/Club Classics nights, get at me, its just a shame most London Venues don't want to hear the 'G' word.

nonono...tbh its frustrating that u go to these raves like where that photo was taken, rinse vs fwd, and the crowd is mostly scene kids, big tunes get dropped and there's no reaction, then some swag bait dubstep or electro "grime" song comes on and the crowd goes mad.
