A sample taken from Dizzee Rascal - Showtime.
The opening track to his album entitled Showtime.
(for those that don't know :-D)

Now correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Dizzee the most listened to mc at the time of this albums release. I believe these lyrics just might have influenced the name of the genre we now know as Grime.

This is just an idea an I'm not swearing by it or anything.

Where do you think Grime got it's name? - perhaps you have a different idea?

He had only sold 100,000 albums and had a top 20 hit in stand up tall.

all i'm saying is hij is pissed if the scene start calling it something else.

for all this argument about the name having such negative connotations; wouldn't it be a big step backwards having to change it like i've heard some people say should happen?

Sonicboom is what Guile says when he sends one your way, if you don't know then where ya been?

And a track on Dizzee's second album couldn't have influenced the name of the genre because it was already dubbed 'Grime' before that.

I meant proof about the genre being referred to as Grime before Showtime was released.
