What remix are we talking about or all of them?
Mister Lacey
29th February '08, 01:25 AM
I like the original a lot but the two remixes up on HyperFranks blog I really don't like them.
Mister Lacey
29th February '08, 01:33 AM
Could have smacked it.
I'd have put bars on it as a remix and flipped it...

29th February '08, 01:34 AM
dem one derrrrr
Don't think they are the official remix's apparently bratt tells me she done 2.
And I'm sure as the craze grows aswell as the tracks popularity the remix/refixs will grow
Mister Lacey

I just feel people should do it different if they are gonna do it allow copying the whole structure. Are people scared to spit on a dance beat? And that Rolex sweep is poooooor.

29th February '08, 01:38 AM
Wiley/Bless beats messed up bad on this, the original track could have got them bare mainstream sucess but by letting any guys remix it they deaded their own hype
Mister Lacey
29th February '08, 01:40 AM
I like Bratt but I just think the remix is poor.
Captain
29th February '08, 01:56 AM
Only problem i saw with Brattz version is that she had no energy at all, seems to me she just wants to feed off the success that Wileys version got.
Mister Lacey
29th February '08, 01:57 AM
Yeah deffo lacked energy. And again someone should have put real verse on the remix.

Imo tho this would sound terrible with spitting over it, just too much of a concept tune for that kind of stuff

Captain

Mz. Bratts was an embarassment, real talk.
Wiley should of waited a month later before the tune started getting played this tunes gonna loose its appeal soon with all these swag remixes and getting played way before official release.

tracks like heartbroken were being played for like a a year and half I swear, the hype grew and then got signed and then released and still went number 2.
The hype for this in the space of like a month is mad. very big. I doubt he has to worry about a month or two. Promotion and things take a little time. Remember the underground have heard this track for a month the 'mainstream' haven't even heard it yet or have once or twice. Needs to bubble for a while especially in the main clubs so it has time to catch on and then boom its out for release, how convinient. The mainstream music work wise much slower than the underground scene. Tracks can be played on logan's and then in a week be pretty much out of date and hardly played again kind of vibe. The maintream will still be boppin to 'rehab' in a year.

Apparently Atlantic have asked everyone in their little book of remixers to have a crack, like Prancehall got pissed about Tapedeck getting asked. I'm hoping that someone's gonna make a heavier electro version, in a Justice/Soulwax style, as well as a proper grimey mix.
Not rolex sweep tho, that was awful

Rolex could easily b remixed with much heavier bass and a more drops. Would be a big club song

Black boys had a point and a message. Wearing my rolex is swag... It's just commercially accepted.

I agree the original black boys had a point, but 20 man remixing it doesnt, that sort of stuff can ruin a perfectly good song
