Dunno wat made me do it coz i never read any blogs, but i decided to read ur blog in ur sig... It sounds like straight hating to me. U say Chippy is just pirating the "premier" MCs as u call them (Wiley, Frisco, Skepta), but that's the most common criticism of new artists in every scene. True pirates never get anywhere, but name 1 artist that aint borrowed good points from a top act already doin it. There are some completely original, but true pioneers are rare, thats why Dizzee is still rated so highly...
U also dismiss Chipmunk's workrate, then have the cheek to say he's had a magic carpet ride to the top?? U just sound lost to me fam. Name another MC that's put out as much music as him, let alone a younger, most MCs in this scene struggle to put anything out & even then they struggle to meet their own deadlines!!

Im not even the biggest Chipmunk fan, but sometimes i do wonder what u grime fans really want... Another Dizzee Rascal is the answer i think, but thats like hip hop fans waiting for another biggie or pac. Plus, what mannerisms is he immitating??!! Thats just not true at all.

Overall the blog is decent tho, shit, it's sparked this long-ass debate outta me!! Get me!

See this is what i mean, it's not just straight hating... Its a common opinion amongst the forum heads. But there's a big difference between what the kids on road think, and what the purist forum heads say.

I rate Chipmunk to a point. But i do think he's getting what he deserves for his workrate.

1st. he doesn't borrow or incorporate minor attributes from these emcees, he completely copies there style.

2nd. I "dismissed" his workrate because as i said, he's been working with the top emcees in the game since he was 14, quite frankly i see it as inevitable for him to release something when people are giving you the finance , support and studio time you need.

3rd. I'm not going to dignify that with a response, if you can't see you be blind.

4rd theres nothing wrong with networking however when your complete success is owed to the fact that numerous emcees are bringing you in the scene yet you(chipmunk) do little to nothing to show gratitude, I think you do not deserve your spot.

I know I'm a bit late, but reading this back I just wanted to say he was saying skeen to the bits he bolded in your post - you can't really see the boldness on this forum.

But still, I rate Chipmunk and can't wait to hear more of him.

Chipmunk is very hit and miss with me. He just misses more times than he hits, just not my style. But I'm not going to deny his talent, he still has the ability to make a track that I like. But in my opinion there are just alot better alternatives. The "Who are you remix" is my example of this. Double S, Ice Kid and Griminal make Chippy skipable on this track.
