News on the Grime Forum EP (and Selenki JJ)

After having a chat with JJ today, hes now in possession of a load of the beats (the ones I got by about Thursday). He'll be spinning a few he likes on his next slot at radio, so keep your eyes peeled (or your ears stuck out?) for that to hopefully get a bit of hype ready for the deadline and reward those who submitted early!

Remember, Monday is the deadline- and the email is hijimi@gmail.com - please list your myspace as well.

Anyway when Monday comes round, the judges will decide the best 7 beats in a special section on the forum. These 7 beats will be played on another JJ show, where people will get the chance to vote for whatever they are feeling the most, and then they will go on the EP. (So judges just decide the best 7 out of all the entries, not the content of the EP)

Judges so far if they are on it are... Retrofreak, TerrorS, Me, Unknown Quantity, Lemon WholeSale, Hyperfrank, FullyGrown, Brukfoot, Elijah, Anonymous, whats_the_score?, Aza T, Mister Lacey. As well as Maximum and Vectra if they are on it (PM me). And finally three random forum guys, post here if you are on it (now gone).

So yeah look out for that and JJ's show and the thread on his show soon and see some more movements on this soon - remember its not too late to submit your beat- details at the top.

Once we have the four tracks we want to put on vinyl, there are various things to consider.

Funding. Where to push it up. What company to go with. Financial cuts. Ideally I would want to put any profit made into Grimestore.com but Im sure the producers would want a cut of the money themselves.

All of that has to be worked out first before we push it up.

As for whether the vinyl WILL come, I imagine it will mate yeah.

Im trying to get it ready so the judges can start listening to the beats from 00:01am Tuesday morning. They'll have 3 days to make their votes count.

Im creating the forum for the voting as we speak and the beats will probably all be uploaded on Zshare to stream in the thread by about 8pm besides the last minute submissions.
