Miss Bratt would do well if she started chucking in a bit of melody into her lyrics.

Record companies now take a share of the artists publishing, performance and merchandising monies.
It works for some, but most artist are avoiding this situation , by dealing with external publishers or avoiding majors all together.
Major companies are taking a bigger slice of a now even smaller pie, so I'm not sure how long this model will work in this climate.

For labels/majors it's a lot, it's not quite so good for artists
but then again, the worlds changing, people going into music expecting major money are lost

How would Dot not be huge? He's already top of the grime game imo, put out what, like 8 CDs last year and produced BARE for other people?
Bashy could do a lot, he's got decent concepts, and used to get decent production, not so much for Bashy.com but a lot of that seemed to be freestyle based, but Chupa Chups had some sick original production.
Pryin' could have done a lot when it dropped originally imo, decent video material for them pop stations.

Ghetts as an abbreviation yh. Its probably minor but to me changing his official name to Ghetts and getting away from "Ghetto" was to detatch himself from the connotations of that word; mainstream in mind.

If Grime characteristics are solely angry hype, then all you'll get is carbon copied Crazy Titch wannabee's running around hyping without any clubs to play their tracks in.
I think it's one sound of Grime, when there should be many, just defined by the individuals personality.
Wiley's good at being Wiley, he sucks when he try's to be someone else.

It's a decent point but a solid Titch CD imo is better than a See Clear Now with boog pop attempts and watered down shit
Ghetto's really the only MC I can think off the top of my head that seems to plan where his music is going as he does it, like he plans the radio tracks, the streets tracks, and them promotes/drops them effectively. Everyone else just tries to make one track to cover all bases.
THOR!

you don't need a label to be successful in music.
artists like black the ripper i beleive will prove this.
Maybe ghetto deserves a break.
And maybe lady shivs could get signed from all the hype if she pissed more mc's off. Lool
