I tried to do it on that email and it wouldn't let me.
Has that got something to do with me not being able to have an avatar

Accounts don't need to be activated no, but it will take 10 posts before you can make your own threads.

So even though i didnt get an activation email i still have full use off the forum ?

You can post in threads like now, but you have to wait till you have 10 posts to your name untill you can create a new thread.
