The British grime star, whose real name is Dylan Mills, is alleged to have waved a baseball bat at a driver in Orpington.

A witness told the Sun newspaper that the rapper “legged it” along a street with the bat.

A police spokesperson said: “A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

“The man is in custody at a police station.”

Mills, a Mercury Prize winner, was recently interviewed on the BBC’s Newsnight programme, where he joked about running for Prime Minister.

International rap star Dizzee Rascal became a victim of his own anger with an arrest on Friday (December 12).



The rapper, born Dylan Mills, was arrested by police on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.



According to reports, the incident stemmed from a “road rage” incident between the 24-year-old rapper and another driver.



During the altercation, which took place around 3:30 p.m. in Sevenoaks Way, Orpington, Kent, Mills allegedly confronted the driver with a baseball bat.



Although the rapper wasn’t identified by name, a police spokesman confirmed that "a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon.”



Dizzee was later released on bail after being held overnight.



He is expected to return to a south London police station later this month.



The incident comes amid recent news of Dizzee Rascal recording new music with house producer Armand Van Helden.



The track, titled “Bonkers,” is expected to appear on Dizzee Rascal’s upcoming fourth album, which is due in stores in 2009.

Dizzee Rascal has been given a warning by authorities after being involved in a road rage incident earlier this month.

According to Bromley Times, Dizzee returned to South London's Bromley police station last Friday (December 26) and was cautioned for applying threatening and/or insulting behavior two weeks ago in the area's south east section.

"A 24 year-old male has received a caution today," a police spokesperson told Times last week, "for an incident that took place in Sevenoaks Way, Orpington, on December 12."
