Seriously, stop being so afro-centric and stop looking at everything in black and white, you fucking dunce. If you're trying to say that grime hasn't blown because of industry racism, you're a deaf mug.

grime hasnt blown cos the police blamed pow for violence and stabbins and shit

grime is associated wit tooo much negativity and no grime tune has measured up to pow yet so deres no reason for grime to be heard properly

NO, grime hasn't blown because the everyday joe doesn't like it. Frankly I don't want them to, grime is bubbling along nicely as it is.

Grime is like any other industry...

The good ones are making pees, the shit ones aren't. Grime has already blown...people are not seeing the wood for the trees.

I still don't see why people see Joss Stone as "black music", even more baffed at them putting Lily Allen there.

Except for Corinne Bailey Rae, no new African British act has achieved major success in the last two years. However, Britain's best-selling black music acts are Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen.

...soul singing and Lily Allen being all "urban" and that... rock started off as black music before Elvis took over too... in fact most major genres started off as "black music"...

It isn't all racism like Taz said, but the attitude of the police towards this scene definitely was/is. It looks like it is improving now though.

They always close down pubs and clubs in white areas because of stabbings etc. aswell tho.

Its not a race thing, its called crime prevention.
If they let the raves go ahead and people get shot then people turn around and say "what are the police doing to prevent crime" if they do people say "why are they being racist".

This guy reads too much into everything.

It boils down to the fact that most the scene has no real talent.

No one in the grime scene would win a talent show or pop idols.

America and Australia didn't start off as white countries either....

anyhow, the rock that Elvis took over is considered black music now anyways, it's what a lot of blues records sound like

It hasnt made it big commercially because clubs are too scared of it. Its hype music. They'll use a little bit when they need to liven up a club but they wont play more than 5 minuites because they dont know how to handel the reaction / amount of energy created in the room.
