If I take a sample, put it into the step sequencer a few times consequetively in fruity and want it to stutter rather than overlap (think the bow E3 sample), how do I do it?
Probably should've explained it better but couldn't think how to!
If anyone knows what the hell im talking about and can help it would be very much appreciated.

Click on the sample, then click on MISC and drag the Polyphony to 1.

Ok so I made a tune using this method yet when I render it to a wave its like I've not even changed the polyophony and the sample overlaps again. Its fine in Fruity, why is this?? Bloody annoying.

To be honest I don't know .

It's only happened to me with one sample before and I never did work out what was causing it.

If you give the sample its own pattern (presuming it doesn't already have it) with the settings you want and its notes layed down then select "PAT" next to the play button and export the pattern of the voice as a wav then open it in you normal project.

If you need more help just say.

this is gonna be hard to explain lol

basically you see when you can change the attack/delay/sustain etc on each sound..

change it so its a square shape instead of a curvy wave shape

make sure you can still hear the whole sample if you cant, change the length of the "hold" so that you can

now go into the piano roll for that channel and draw in the notes you want, ie one long note and 4 little ones infront of that for the stutter

the sound will come out how ever long the note is that you've drawn (aslong as the note isnt longer than the original sample)

bobs your uncle.

use just pull the attack time off the sample to zero and it will only overlap depending on how long you make the sample in the piano roll
