Music tech in college (BTEC) was a dos in my case as they had to cater for all the students and half of them didnt know anything about music. Now im at Uni doin Creative Sound Design and its BORING. i really regret doing it still... When u start going Uni for Music ders a possibilty you will get fed up and end up treating it as a choir.

I did music technology to degree level, it's boring and mostly irrelevant to the actual industry.

The ONLY way in, literally, is to intern for free, as young as possible and then climb. If you think a degree will get you a music job, you're lost. Look at any music job advert and they always require at least one years experience.

I know someone who did the more business side of things and it was far more interesting than the pure music tech one. Learning how a synth works is kinda irrelevant these days if you're looking to do anything other than teach that back.

I go there, good lecturers. Bit dry as a uni though.

Statuz how did you go about doing your intern? just send a a c.v to everyplace saying you'll work for free?

Some of them advertise it, otherwise you need to ask. Blindly sending your CV in does nothing though, you have to PHONE and get someone's NAME and send it in. Anything just for the company gets parred.

But yeah, basically just say you want to gain experience and are interested in internship/working for free and see what they offer.
