i like trim but he needs better producers on his album, cause some of his beats on the Soulfood series was poor. Lyrically he unique & fucked!!! But i doubt it'll be a classic, about 3-4 big tunes

that is silly talk bro trim is still too much. i think he needs better beats but to be fair the beats he uses off t spark and jerzey sounded big on the last westwood set he was spitting on vand lets be fair he should be able to count on beats and features off skepta, wiley, tynchy/ruff squad, dva, mega, roachie the youngsters he likes, ie t spark and crunch, maybe people like mike skinner and radioclit etc from other scenes..... that line up would be sick and he has said he has kept back certain tunes for the album so id say if he hasn't rushed it it will be big. he is still one of the only grime artist who is still unique and talented
infact if you took the polished songs using the top producers from the soulfood series its a line up that would be a top grime album already

Really good post. I'm a huge fan of Trim's and think he's probably my favourite artist in the Grime scene. Unlike most, I've found each Soulfood an improvement on the last so I'm really looking forward to his next (The Bucket Meal?)
The view that Trim has "fallen off" is laughable.

your taste in grime is laughable
his new shit is pretentious pseudo-experimental bullshit
he wants to play on being "different" and is consequentially making shit music

im actually becomming BROKE, but i will buy it if it's released on a day in which i have money.
i liked a few tracks on soulfood 1, i liked more on vol. 2, an more on vol. 3 so yh i reckon i'll like the album alot from he's probably been holding back better tracks, an makin more better tracks.

Trims album will be good im listening to soul food right now and trims bars are so real.
soulfood vol 1 is the best so far but im starting to like volume 3 after a few more listens.

Trim is fucked. Simple as. Soulfood 3 is a grower. Too many bangers on the Soulfood series anyway, on some experimental tip. One of the few MCs who definately has his own style and his tracks reflect that.

im v.satisfied with the mixtapes tbh
calling your product an album makes certain artists try efforts that only do the product worse so ....
and if the threads because of him saying albums next, go back to his previous interviews where he said every even souldfood volume is gonna have a bonus disc or that theres gonna be 5 videos to soulfoods by the end of 08 etc.
Trim is fucked. Simple as.

He's grown up a bit. It's not really reasonable to expect a grown man to come with the playground retorts anymore...plus he's still hard at the slewing; I though that 'war report 4' tune with wiley was much gullier than The Lowdown.

Trim isn't in my sig for nothing. Some people don't like him, but those people are drunk trolls. All of his mixtapes are big, and whether he does an album or a mixtape he's one of the few people I will buy a CD of without caring about 'previewing' beforehand.

It will be a top album if he does it properly, like get good production and have grime not the experimental stuff hes been using of late.
But even if he doesn't it will still be a cop

I don't really see the point of albums. The Soulfood mixtapes are long enough to be albums anyway.

I'll cop whatever Trim releases. He has been in mytop 5 from day.
I was disappointed with vol.2 but i think 1-3 were both very big. Looking forward to vol.4. I think he does need to vary his producers a bit.

I think he does need to vary his producers a bit.
Yeah i agree with that, but he should keep some of those unorthodox beats though, but defiantely needs a wider variety of beats.
Has he said yet what the album will be called?
S.Man
9th October '08, 06:44 PM
Definately. I think those beats suit his flow more. But im sure he sound just as equally sick over a Wiley, Joker, Rude Kid beat. Just makes the album more appealing having a variety.
Take Kano, 140GS had too many Mikey J beats. If he changed it up a bit it might be more appealing to those. Coz the beats he has kinda all sound like they southern-hip-hop influence.

Yeah the amount of Mikey J beats spoilt it a bit for me.....Yeah trim needs to be on a bit of 'traditional' grime tracks, bet he would sound big on
dubstep aswel cus those beats can get real dark.

Kano should just fire Mikey J, straight up.
Most things I don't like about Kano certainly do, or at least probably do, have something to do with Mikey J.

I've been playing Trim - Let Me Know all day on my ipod, fucked tune, shame its like 1.20 min long
I actually like the producers he's working with, Jerzey, T Spark, DVA, Mega etc

10th October '08, 01:15 AM
When the rest of the big names in the scene are pushing a shitty electro or pop sound, Trim has stayed true to his head and went as far out as anyone ever has in grime. He follows his own path and blatantly doesn't give a fuck about commercial success or even "radio play".
True individual, that man. Can't wait for Vol 4, he's doing things that very few would dare to do.
Leng Man Louie
10th October '08, 01:19 AM
Trim is alot but he just remixes his bars a bit to often IMO.
