I dont think you can blame wiley for in at the deep end, he wasnt really repping roll deep when they were making that, and he has said in interviews it was the other guys who wanted to go down that poppy route, I remember him saying in an interview that other members of roll deep thought grime was dead

A good look still, could lead to somthing else.

i remember Wiley saying they couldnt get it signed as grime. Therefor went a different route, then he heard POW and realised gime could blow.

I dont think Wiley being signed is a good for him. His attitude was bad under XL and under Big Dada at times he seemed uninterested

he produced a few of the successful singles off in at the deep end still. He can, he already is making music which the mainstream audience is liking i.e. gangsters is being played out of every car in every place i go to so that shows that. If he can get to a label which can push his music to a Large buying audience then yeah it will be a commercial success......but..... thats beyond the point...only the song is signed

Well in that case that is a good look coz that song could become a massive success in the clubs and he might get more exposure round his name but then the question is will the listeners want him to come with more of the same and if he doesnt and comes with grime will they go off him again??? probably.

Co-signed..

If it blows Wiley will be forced to replicate the first song ,just like T2's trying to do now.

I think this could be the biggest thing to ever happen to grime.. I can't wait but then on the other hand i've loved wiley for years and all the new fans this will generate, people who have never heard of him will annoy me..

on the list of artists on Atlantic someone pls fix it so the wiley link actually links to the wiley page..

although its good for grime to have occasional mainstream releases for new fans

10th February '08, 08:35 PM
if there's a follow-up single, it won't be grime. There's no chance they'd sign a guy on the strength of an electro track, then take some grime as a followup.

It'll be re-hashes and remixing all round.

adidasgrandad
10th February '08, 08:44 PM
yeah true. i cant see wiley releasing another non grime song "why should i listen or mingle...with a label that aint gonna release a grime single?".
best thing i can see coming of this, is exposure for wiley...which aint a bad thing i suppose
