You watched him play for Santos? I think he performs much better for them personally.

.
Today he was sorta played out of position to the left to put Leandro Damiao in the centre I think. Besides this was mostly a test squad for the Olympics so overall team performance was poor in general.
Brazil are probably unwilling to build the team around Neymar, which means he won't be able to play like he does for Santos.

Neymar's almost always on the left & he's had great games for the National team, particularly last season.
Mexico just did a Chelsea & a Roy Hodgson. It's like when people say Messi doesn't perform against Chelsea etc.
It's more difficult to see these players at their best when they play in possession teams that play high up & they are playing against teams who play counterattacking football. More often or not you get a game where the possession team starts passing around the area trying to break the team down & it's difficult to get in.
You want to see them running past players into space, but, teams know they can stop that by putting a tough barrier there.
Ganso there would have helped as he does that mirror return pass with Neymar so effectively, but, I liked him in the game, he was positive, he kept on trying, kept on knocking, it just didn't pan out for him.
In the USA game, Neymar did well, there were great examples how great he is at supplying the ball in from wide areas.
What these teams should do is sit back and encourage the other team to come out more, I think Belgium should have done that as well.
England wanted let them have the possession and stayed resolute. Belgium would have been better saying okay.. you attack now.
Went deeper, I think it was at Wembley too so, usually the crowd expect you to attack & could have got on them if they didn't.
That way they could have used all of their tricky speedy attacking players better. I think the swapping of positions for them just confused things.
I think the manager gets a D-
I think in the Euro's we might see a lot of Di Matteo - Roy Hodgson tactics. France need to prepare on how they are going to combat that, because it's been so effective.
Nevertheless Marcelo impresses me a lot! He & Neymar link up well. Danilo & Hulk are great together too. I just think Damiao, I don't rate him.
& in the middle Sandro, Oscar & I can't remember who the other one is... that needs sorting out. The team is for the Olympics & Ganso is young enough to compete so, you want him to get better quickly & play.
