Being reported by german media and not denied by the club so far. The main west brom journo seems to think its true aswel, after blues wanted 2 mil for houghton.

Noted Hij on twitter saying that the liverpool job looks to be Martinez' now also?

I'm still not sure. All the guys I trust are now saying Rodgers, infact actually it was a done deal today but waiting to be announced. Paul Tomkins is well connected and he says its definitely true and done today but completely contrary to Swansea saying that Liverpool wasn't mentioned at all today.

Decent sources reckon we have got Segura, Van Gaal and Rodgers all in different roles. Rodgers clearly focusing on management/coaching side, Segura as some sort of technical director and Van Gaal going after players. I have no opinion or idea as to how well this will work at all.

Who the hell is Rangnick?

DW gave Martinez 48 hrs, so we'll find out soon enough.

Joke stolen from RAWK

"It looks like they have whittled it down to the final two, Martinez and Rodgers. Are the other candidates going to be coming back to help them try and win the final task?"

Got Hoffenheim promoted twice, then quit after board sold Gustavo to Bayern Munich over his head. Went to Schalke, got them to the semi's of the europa but had the quit after falling ill. Now he reckons hes back and ready to get back into management.

Wow! He was one of the hottest managerial properties in the game because of Hoffenheim, I would have thought he was too good for West Brom.

Liverpool should get Brendan Rodgers. They really should. A lot of Liverpool fans look down on Brendan Rodgers.
They won't for long. He's good in the transfer market, much better than most managers, even on a budget. Leaving Swansea would be a difficult choice for him, but, let's say he goes to Liverpool and is a success. I couldn't see him leaving their for a long time, only for Spain. It didn't work out for Reading & Watford, it mightn't workout for Liverpool, but, the risk taken is not a great one, I'd rather risk it on him than AvB or Martinez.

Im hoping its true. If he comes then I can see Ollson and Foster signing. Couldn't see those signing with Houghton as boss.

Fair play. Sounds like a decent manager from that track record.

I thought the whole point of Van Gaal potentially being the director of football etc, is that he would buy the players and work with Rodgers to decide up one them?

I dunno, but in any case, he's made smart decisions like Vorm, Gilfy, the Borini loan was instrumental. Graham panned out for him.

Just, what has Martinez really shown? I just don't see it. Doesn't it say something that more clubs are interested in raiding Wigan for players.
Diame is being chases, Moses, McArthur & McCarthy are rated. Rodallega was a best under Steve Bruce. Wigan don't have that bad a set of players.

I know it's only on one season, but, rather than individuals being praised, for Swansea it's more the team.
That says tonnes, they out performed Wigan, this season as well. Their possession stats are not a fluke, if he manages to effectively translate his game to Liverpool and you have better players isn't it more worth risking an appointment on that than what most other managers have to offer?

Jay/Zoffie who got Shalke relegated though? Rangnick or Stale Stobakken? I don't follow German football.

If we can keep Foster and Olsson because of this>>>
