this i see clear album is gonna fuck wiley. people do not buy into pop music anymore, they buy into bands and the such who have a bit of credability.

i swear down if anyone hears this i see clear album you will agree it isn't shit but its bait pop for the most part, didn't roll deep teach anyone a lesson. i swear if wiley released wmr and summertime on r.a t with a couple more dancey electro house tunes mixed in with some bow e3 style raw grime with tunes that told stories aswell as made people dance it would enough comercial status to get singles and enough raw energy to get him attention to grime and also maintain him a fanbase, trust the i see clear album will have momentary hype then he will be back to doin hs tunnel visions. people don;t realise that dizzee had a big indie fan base from bitc. people know good original music. wiley hasn't delivered.

soulfood 4 out before the end of year, grime meets dnb and dubstep alternative weirdness, cop it. bless

the thing with wiley now is he has gone on a mad hype because hes signed and has become more big headed and ignorant and thinks he is better than everyone he needs to be smacked in the head by someone or something to get him to realise he aint the best

Definately. I don't know what it is with wiley, the man has a lot of potential, he's just misguided and not very well informed on how to sell maybe. Saying that, didnt he sell like 5000 copies of eskimo out his boot?

i swear if wiley released wmr and summertime on r.a t with a couple more dancey electro house tunes mixed in with some bow e3 style raw grime with tunes that told stories aswell as made people dance it would enough comercial status to get singles and enough raw energy to get him attention to grime and also maintain him a fanbase

yea thats his best option

but hes got to rep put the bangers on all his albums
I was just listening to treadin on thin ice and it has no weight

i rate Treddin' On Thin Ice... name 3 or 4 better grime albums...?

and Da 2nd Phaze is a top grime mixtape is it not?

but i agree with OP, he's making the wrong moves to play off his buzz while simultaneously trying too hard to please everybody

Wiley will probably get dropped, but makes a thread and say him and the label had a mutual agreement.

It was also an excuse to post this song on a grimeforum haha!

Also I cannot wait for Soulfood 4, was listening back to a lot of the Soulfoods the past few days, and Trim whenever he is on form he is easily up there with the best in the scene

Grime meets DnB on soulfood 4?
Sounds good if it aint just a few grime tracks, a few DnB and a few Dubstep tracks. I hope its a merged sound in someway.

BITC to me was a full grime album but the tempo was not 140 BPM right the way through. Some beats like 'Vexx' and other tunes like the one with wiley on it, were at 160-170 BPM but still sounded like raw grime with pure energy.

*kinda off topic but still lol

lol, if they entered rolex sweep for it we might have had a chance!

Wileys cds seem to get worse rather than better. RAT is his last chance to make his definitive cd imo (although it could be argued that Treadin on thin ice defined his style perfectly at that time)

It's the age old story isn't it? They get a bit of chart success and then what?
The worst part is when you've got someone like " alan" in accounts who says he listens to grime, then pulls out Wearing My Rolex next to his Jamie Cullum and Katie Melua albums:laugh:

I think wiley's sound changes a lot. You can tell what type of era most of his stuff is from just from listening to the synth's, basses and percussion.

i'd say from 2006 onwards his sound has been fairly varied, partly due to him spitting on more tunes by different producers.

im gonna totally ignore this album and just wait for RAT. What the label should realise is that people bought into WMR not wiley. Only people who can release successful pop albums are manufactured pop boy and girl bands. He doesnt have that image. Should have just left it at WMR. Does he really want to be the person who just makes music with no meaning?this stuff has no longevity, no meaning. He's still making music which would have been acceptable by a younger. He's still saying nothing eventhough hes got alot to say.

It hypocritical of him as I'm sure he wasnt pleased with the mainstream approach of in at the deep end.

But hey, he's getting older, he has to make some money so I guess he's temporarily comprimising his sound? I like his experimental stuff but I'm surprised at his movements.

I'll buy both albums still.
