surprised we are favourites for this though, arsenal will want revenge after the 8-2. city will more than likely win tonight so this is a must-win game.

We've just got too many injuries for this tbh. Players that make up the spine of our team like Wilshere, Sagna and Vermaelen havent played against United in both fixtures this years its just frustrating. Gervinho's gonna miss out again as well
Will put down P on Rooney to score, he ALWAYS scores against Arsenal

Hit United with some quick, fast football and Arsenal will take this down. United are good but suffering so much from injuries if Arsenal would just go for the jugular.

We have no 1st or 2nd choice RB or LB. Our best CB is injured, Gervinho at ACN, Wilshere still out and Arteta might miss the game as well.
Will Valencia play on the right? If so Miquel is in for a tough game, he's 6ft 4 and not very fast.

17th January '12, 01:18 AM
Nah MyLord has been Liverpool from day.
But TBH we'd need a major collapse for them to fall down.
It's between Chelsea/Liverpool/Newcastle and Arsenal for fourth I'd imagine, which means despite everyones laughter - one of Chelsea and Arsenal will be in the Europa next season.
Also............................................
How about this........................
Imagine this was how the table ended
1) Man C
2) Man U
3) Chelsea
4) Tottenham
5) Arsenal
^^^^^^^^^^^^
And Tottenham fans take to the streets to celebrate a rare St.Arsenalildge day
And gloat about being in the Champions League
But wait, hold it down
Because something fucked up happens
And Arsenal win the Champions League
And due to this Tottenham get booted out of the Champions League and drop into the Europa and Arsenal take their place in the Champions League
And Modric and Van Der Vaart and Bale all slap in transfer requests
:laugh::laugh::laugh: - it would make it worthwhile Arsenal winning for that to happen
Tony Starks
17th January '12, 01:22 AM
Would that def happen if Arsenal win the champions league? Or would all 5 teams go in?
Hij
17th January '12, 01:32 AM
Would that def happen if Arsenal win the champions league? Or would all 5 teams go in?
The precedent was set when we finished 5th and won the European Cup and Everton finished 4th. The FA appealed to UEFA and managed to get all 5 teams in (we had to start from the first qualifying round, hence why I have been to every single round possible of the European Cup - a feat probably most teams won't do - but not that exciting really). Obviously, regardless of not being 4th, you have to let the Champions defend it!
They put us both in and we took the place of some shit team from some far flung country and they went into Europa instead, I believe that country got an extra place the year after. Everton even lost their qualifier, even though we had to play 6 games to get into the group stages
But yeah, the new rule is as follows. If the Champions League winners are ranked outside of the top four, then it is the 4th placed team they will displace.
If Chelsea or Arsenal win the Champions League they could conceivably take any team out that was in 4th, whether that be any of the teams who can potentially still finish there - Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United, Man City.
Also, never understood why the winners of the Europa League don't get a Champions League birth but there you go.
But Tony Starks can you imagine the scenes? The Champions League final takes place after the Premier League season is over. If you got to the final and Tottenham were 4th and you were 5th, they'd be cheering against you more than you ever thought possible.
I wish the rule was properly in place when we did it, because Everton made so much noise, it would have been sick if the precedent was already set.

Spurs arent in the title race, there isnt one on right now. You're in a good position in January and thats it really
lol Oh my days. This is actually just common sense, but, seeing.... what should be "normal" understanding when it comes to this topic, seems as rare as cockney women with ass.
If you are out of the race you actually cannot come back in, people mug themselves off.... They just wasn't out of the race in the first instance
well if they keep going the way they are they will eventually close in on 1st place. But fuck dem anyway...
....& If Newcastle kept up their early season form they could have got Champions League football.
Who remembers last season when it became evident that Chelsea were going to buy Torres close to the end of the January Window, we only found out very close to the end of the window. What were people saying?
"Oh.. Torres might not even be playing in the Champions League next season, look where Chelsea are, if they carry on with their form they will finish outside the top 4" & blah, & blah & blah...
This was January 31st & we were so behind the leaders. Now, towards the end of the season who was the closest team to rival United for the title?
It's just a little Wisdom seeing as we have seen so many seasons. Teams can capitulate as well.. Shout-out to Keegan.
Chelsea are not guaranteed top 4, at this point, who is guaranteed top four? Form isn't necessarily going to continue how it has gone & there is fifty one points still to play for.
tbh, I would take Champions League football, if offered now, because, Arsenal have already put a run together this season, they are well capable of putting another one together, Arsenal vs United games are interesting because recently it seems that when everything is going wrong for Arsenal, they still turn up against United at the Emirates. I was thinking maybe it's because Arsenal have a good midfield & United have a bad one, but Scholes & Carrick should suffice.
Shout-out to the London clubs though, I remember when Arsenal were running things & the fans were walking around with their chests fully out, a part from the consequential bravado that ensues, I always want London clubs to do better than them Northern scallies.
