So i decided the other day its time to start getting rid of some body fat cos ive piled a little on over christmas and new year and its about time i started cutting anyway. Just need help with diet, i started yesterday with my diet and workout so im just wondering is 50g of carbs on a workout day too high/low or just right? bearing in mind i weigh 74kg/163lbs. Im eating 170g of protein and will probably get more in some days, but 170 is my minimum. Is it normal to get headaches when cutting your carbs out too? lol

50 is too low I think, even for your weight. How much were you eating before, or you didn't really have macros?

When i was bulking I was having around 200-250g a day

u can keep carbs low.
and yes its normal for a week or so to get some slight withdrawal. after couple weeks u will get used to it.

I'd say about 100g for carbs. If you go too low your body's gonna go in starvation mode and you won't be able to loose fat from bottom of your abs and stuff. Maybe lowering them slowly would be better along with monitoring your weight.

How long do you have to cut?
I'm starting a slow cut from around March, to guarantee I can get my diet refined in time to lose a small amount of weight each week whilst retaining the most muscle.

Tommy I don't really have a deadline I just don't wanna have to be cutting for more than 2 months or something. Before I started bulking I carried a bit of bad fat around my ab's that's why I kinda wanna lose it all as quick as I can then I can start bulking again but next time I'll hopefully be able to maintain some definition while doing so.
I'll be going running 2-3 times a week before I start work aswell, should I eat before or after I get back? And should I keep it to about 20min sessions?

see this is the problem you face when you do this whole "bulking & cutting" way of things
keep diet on point with little cardio and you can gain size and stay lean

not really a problem though

If you take the nutritional information as slightly inaccurate in places, swole.me is a brilliant site for diets.

Safe for the replies bros
Certified the fat was there to begin with tbh, just gone up a little in the past 4-5 month from bulking and slipping on the diet every now and then. Like I said once its all gone down I can maintain it easier then.

I am cutting from 83kg to about 76kg and I only have 50g of starch carbs in the morning. I dont count the carbs from vegetables. If you fill up on plenty of green veg, you should find you lose fat and dont feel too hungry. Keep your protein levels very high or you will lose muscle mass and your strength will decrease quickly.

Drink/eat a whole lemon in the night. Wake up and do a heavy jog + loads of situps. Works wonders
Also guys what's a good way to measure the protein/carb e.t.c intakes of food during a day. Do you write down what you've eaten asap on a food diary or something?
All I know is that I eat roughly 3000 carbs and maybe around 50g of proteins a day. I eat loads of carbs n proteins.
I'm 5ft 11(180cm) and weigh 82kg

It adjusts the water system in your body, something like that. You will wake up lighter not a huge difference

lol never heard of eating lemons and shit, can confirm ive dropped about 6-8lbs in three weeks. havent limited my carbs as much as i wanted, floating around 100-130g a day with them but im getting them from oats/wholegrain rice. Not drunk milk or had bread or pasta either, not been doing as much cardio as i want though just the lifting workouts from P90X, gonna add the cardio ones in starting this week and hopefully get to where i want within a month or two.

It's a diuretic yeah, but realistically it's not a good tool for losing weight in the long term.

get on the clen, or if you want to do it half hearted get some ephedrine. cutting natural is so drawn out and shit, unless you limit yourself a ridiculous amount.

Depends whether you drink tea without milk and sugar
otherwise it will just give you those extra calories that you don't need
i think people who drink tea for that drink green tea
Mr. Jefferies can you confirm
green tea is disgusting so i don't see any other use for it, nobody drinks it for the taste, i know that lol

Green tea is an antioxidant, it's good for you, I enjoy drinking it and it tastes fresh and not like old ladies' breath like INDIAN tea does.

But fruit juices are full of sugar. One of the worst things you can drink when dieting.

the calories added from milk/sugar is negligible. think it's like 50 from memory. tea is still an A* drink. up there w/ water, protein shakes & diet coke/coke zero. juice, soda, milkshakes - anything like that is terrible.
glass of fresh, pure oj in the morning is sick though >>>
cycle between clean bulking and cutting while maintaining strength increases.
cardio works when cutting if you cbf, h/o it's not essential.
aslong as you burn more calories than you take in your body fat will reduce.
this is actually true lol
you can effectively cut on doughnuts, mcdonalds, w/e: u would just feel like shit.
