i agree, if you want to train at home it's possible but if you intend to join a gym in the near future just wait.

Yeah save your money, just workout with body weight exercises for now at home, maybe get a pull up bar http://www.amazon.co.uk/Iron-Total-Upper-Body-Workout/dp/B002GHBRWA/ref=sr_1_1?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1321299314&sr=1-1 like this one and get some pull ups/chin ups on the go aswell.

to answer op's question though, that bench will last you a year or so before you need to upgrade or join a gym. it'll be fine for now but really there's no point in buying it if you're joining a gym soon. sorry for repeating myself.
